How I found my wedding dress, pt. 2

This is the second post in the series of posts I decided to write on how I found my wedding dress.
Chapter I was about searching the web and turning every pixel in wedding dress sites and online bridal boutiques.

This time I will dedicate a few words to pinterest, as an easy online tool for finding inspiration and organizing it. As you can see, the second step to finding the dress also took place in the comfort of my own home and in front of the computer. love it!

I don't think I need to explain about pinterest, and if by any chance you are still not familiar with this platform I suggest you open an account and strat rolling with it. It can do you no harm.. Anyway, before I started going to boutiques and studios and actually trying on dresses, I decided to make an inspiration board for the dress I was looking for.

This was done in order to get a clear picture of what I want, and to make it easier to get it.
By browsing my board you'll not be able to see the dress I chose, but in every picture I added there is some element that I loved and wanted to incorporate in my dress.

I highly recommend making such board, in any design project but especially when you are faced with the task of finding a wedding dress. It can help you stay clear and focused about what you want, and even if you are not quite sure what you want you can add images of stuff you like and eventually find the themes and main ideas that surface from what you have collected.

I tried to make my board "short and sweet" with not too many ideas to distract me. Such board can also be taken to a designer or seamstress and also help you determine which places you're gonna go eventually to try stuff on, and which oned you can skip.

הדרך אל שמלת הכלה - פרק ב'

אחרי הפוסט הראשון בסדרת הפוסטים אודות "איך מצאתי את שמלת הכלה שלי", שעסק בסריקה אינטרנטית של היצע מלבושי הכלה שניתן למצוא אונליין, נעבור לפרק ב' בסדרה, שגם הוא באורח פלא, מתקיים במחשב מול האינטרנט.

כפי שהבטחתי, הפרק הזה עוסק בפינטרסט, ובתרומתו לתהליך חיפוש ומציאת שמלת הכלה.

לא נראה לי שאני צריכה להרחיב בהקדמות על איך פינטרסט עובד, וזה גם לא כל כך מסובך - פשוט תפתחו חשבון ותתחילו לזרום איתו - אבל למי שממש מתעקש אומר שמדובר בלוח אימג'ים מקוון, בסגנון לוח השעם של פעם, רק בלי נעצים ובלי שיתפוס מקום על הקיר. וגם לא על ההארד דיסק.
אפשר ליצור לוחות בכל מיני נושאים ובכמות בלתי מוגבלת, ולצרף אליהם תמונות שמצאתם ברחבי הרשת מ(כמעט) כל אתר. כמו כן, אפשר לעקוב אחרי אנשים מעניינים ולצרף תמונות שמצאו חן בעיניכם בלוח של מישהו אחר.

 

לפני שניגשתי למלאכת חיפוש השמלה בפועל - כלומר ממש ללכת לבוטיקים ולבתי סטודיו של מעצבים, החלטתי להכין לי לוח השראה שיעזור לי למקד מה שאני מחפשת, וליצור תמונה בראש, גם אם כללית, של השמלה שבה אני מעוניינת.

בלוח הפינטרסט המדובר שלי אמנם לא תוכלו למצוא את שמלת הכלה שאני בסופו של דבר הולכת ללבוש ביום החתונה, אבל כמעט בכל תמונה יש לפחות אלמנט אחד שאהבתי ושדימיינתי בעיני רוחי כמשתלב בשמלת הכלה שלי. 

השתדלתי לשמור את הלוח שלי short and sweet, בלי יותר מדי עומס של תמונות או רעיונות רבים מדי וסותרים ונראה לי שלמסתכל מהצד די ברורה התמונה והכיוון הכללי.
לוח ההשראה הזה הוא משהו שבסופו של דבר גם אפשר לקחת למעצב/ת או לתופרת ולהראות להם, כמו כן, הוא יכול מאוד לעזור בבחירת וצמצום המקומות שבסופו של דבר הולכים אליהם למדוד שמלות.

פינטרסט מתבסס על העיקרון הישן והטוב של לוח השראה. לוח השראה מהסוג שבעיקר מעצבים מכל התחומים עובדים איתו, אבל כמובן לא מוגבל רק לקהל המקצועי. ומבחינתי, כמו בכל פרויקט עיצובי גדול, גם בעת החיפוש אחר שמלת כלה, לוח השראה שכזה הוא צעד ראשוני וחשוב בתהליך, מסוג הדברים שעוזרים "לסדר את הראש" ולתת פוקוס.
