enjoying coat weather / II זמן למעילים

שבוע של נחת עבר על כוחותינו.
המעילים יצאו מהארון ולבוש בשכבות נראה והרגיש כמו משהו נורא טבעי שאנחנו עושים פה תמיד, לא?
אני חייבת לומר שאתמול כשהייתי בדרך הביתה בשעות הערב ושוב התחיל לרדת גשם, התחילה לעבור במוחי המחשבה ש"אוף, שוב גשם?? החורף הזה כבר נמאס" אבל אז נזכרתי שאני בעצם די אוהבת את החורף, וגם יש לי כזה אוסף פרטי של מעילים שרק שבועות סגריריים כמו השבוע האחרון יכולים להצדיק.
אז חייכתי בעודי חושבת על כל הקילומטרז' שהמעילים האהובים יצברו החורף - כולי תקווה.

המעיל הזה הוא תוספת אחרונה ומשמחת לקולקציה.
איכשהוא פיספסתי את הקטע של מעיל אפור כל השנים וזה היה פספוס רציני. כל כך מתאים לה-כ-ל (החורף במיוחד מעניין אותי ללבוש אותו עם פריטים לבנים וקאמלים).
מאחר והמעיל חתוך בגזרה מאוד נקיה החלטתי לשלב אותו באאוטפיט נקי, אורבני, גברי משהו ודי מינימליסטי (לפחות ביחס לסגנון שלי): סריג צמות אפור, מכנסיים לבנים מגולגלים באזור הקרסול וסניקרס בצבע לבן.
לסיום, אי אפשר בלי היילייט מנומר, וכמובן משקפי שמש אפרפרות מנומרות.

This week was fashionista heaven.
Cold front and lots of rain made it possible to dress in multiple (!!) layers, take out our beloved coats, and feel like we're so used to this weather around here.
I was especially happy because I was able to take a look at my huge coat collection (huge in terms of a lady living in a country that has no actual or serious winter) and decide each day which one I wanna wear.

And there was the new addition to the coat collection: This beautiful grey coat.
For some reason I neglected and missed the grey coat thing, maybe dazzled and distracted by all the other coats, and I have to tell you it was pretty stupid since such coat goes so well with A LOT of stuff.
This winter I'm mainly excited about wearing it with white items and camel colored garments.

Wore it out with a minimal and clean getup consisting of white trousers rolled up at the ankles, grey knit and white sneakers. Of course I just had do add a bit of leopard with a small cross-body bag, and tortoise sunnies.

אפשר להתחיל להתלבש בשכבות, הידד!

זוכרים את ג'קט האופנוענים הורדרד מהחורף שעבר? (אני לא שוכחת אף אאוטפיט) כתבתי אז שהוא ושאר חבריו הפסטליים ימשיכו איתנו גם לחורף הבא, וכידוע אני לא מחרטטת אתכם ואת עצמי, וכמו שזה נראה, המעילים הוורדרדים are here to stay, זה לא טרנד חד עונתי ויהיה השקעה מוצלחת גם לחורף הבא.

להלן הגרסה העכשוית שלי ל-outerwear ורדרד צמרירי ונעים.
החלטתי שהוא יילך הכי טוב עם שמלת סריג בגוון נייטרלי, תיק בגוון וורדרד והתבלין המתאים ביותר שאפשר להוסיף: נעליים מנומרות. כידוע, לאור מצבי הנוכחי העקבים פחות או יותר ננטשו לטובת סניקרס וכל מה ששטוח, ובמסגרת השתלטות הנעליים הנוחות על המלתחה נוסף הזוג המנומר הזה, שהולך טוב עם כל מה שוורוד, ועם עוד כמה דברים.

אז שיהיה לכולנו שבוע חורפי ונעים!

Finally, a winter-like weekend has arrived!
And the upcoming week is supposed to be mostly rainy so I have high expectations. We can start layering up and getting properly dressed. Hurrah!

Remember the pink biker jacket from last winter? I remember telling you all about how this will be a long lasting trend, and guess what, it is. You can start pulling out your pinkish winter coats, or get yourselves one, and I'm pretty sure we'll be able to wear them next winter as well.

So this is my current version of blush toned outerwear, I chose to pair it with a neutral colored knit dress, dusty pink bag and a leopard accent which goes well with pink and suits my current state: leopard adidas zx flux sneakers. Gotta love them.

fall whites / סתיו בלבן

בוקר טוב!
כפי שניתן לראות, אני עדיין לובשת באדיקות את הצבע הלבן שללא ספק היה ועודנו הצבע האהוב בחצי השנה האחרונה לפחות. נראה כמה עוד נצליח למשוך :)

כאן הלבן בגירסא די חגיגית ומתוקתקת, החלטתי ללכת על שילוב מעט שונה ויותר "מסודר" מאשר ה-sporty casual הרגיל שאני אוהבת ואף לנסות מכנסיים בגזרה שעדיין אין לי בארון (או יותר נכון, לא היתה לי לפני שהם הצטרפו) ואני די מרוצה מהתוצאה.

השתמשתי בכמה "טריקים" קטנים כדי להכניס קצת קז'ואליות לאאוטפיט שהוא בסה"כ די מגונדר כמו למשל אקססוריז בחום ומנומר (שהם לא השידוך הקלאסי ללבן), סנדלים במקום נעלי עקב (האמת ש-pumps זה הדבר האחרון שבא לי לנעול כרגע) וגלגול אגבי - אך מחושב! - של מכפלת המכנסיים.

שיהיה שבוע מוצלח, אוטוטו עוד חופש :)

As you can see, I'm still wearing white, which has been and still is a favorite of mine in the past 6 months at least. Let's see how long I can still go on with it :)
Here I'm wearing my whites in a more elegant and "dressed-up" version than my usual sporty casual, and I even dared to try pants in a new cut that I don't usually wear and don't really own.
I think I might just get me another similar pair, since I'm pretty pleased with the outcome.

I used a few "tricks" to add a bit of casualness and nonchalance to my otherwise decked out outfit, such as using brown and leopard accessories (which are not the classic addition to white), wearing sandals instead of pumps, and casually rolling up my trouser's hems.

creamy friday

Hi, how are you enjoying your holiday season?
We don't really have a holiday season right now, but I can't say I'm not enjoying these special times.
I don't usually wear a one colored outfit but this is what I came up with today and I kinda like it. Feels nice to blend in an all creamy and comfy garments.
I even matched the iPhone cover to the outfit, well, not purposely since I don't change the cover every day... Due to the fact that I'm inseparable with my iPhone I constantly look out for cool covers and was really happy to receive this beautiful one. My phone liked it too!

הגיע היום האהוב עלי בשבוע ולכבודו התלבשתי בקרם מכף רגל ועד ראש.
סתם, האמת שאני לא נוהגת בדרך כלל לעטות אאוטפיט חד גוני אבל זה מה שיצא, ודווקא מצא חן בעיני להיטמע בגוון אוף וויט נעים ומכרבל מכף רגל ועד ראש.
אפילו כיסוי האייפון התאים את עצמו למלבושים - לא שהוא מתלבש לבד..

מאחר ואני מחוברת היטב לאייפון (ממתינה בקוצר רוח לפיתוח הטכנולוגי שישתיל לי את המכשיר לתוך הגוף) אני תמיד מחפשת כיסויים נאים.
בין הכיסויים הזולים אך המאוד סתמיים ונטולי העיצוב בדיל אקסטרים, לבין כיסויי המעצבים היפיופים והיקרים בטירוף אני בדרך כלל לא מוצאת את עצמי, לכן שמחתי מאוד לקבל את הכיסוי הזה ולגלות חנות עם קאברים מעוצבים, מגניבים וסבירים במחיר.

for the love of leopard

Who ever thought I decided to give leopard a rest after this post was seriously mistaken.

And I think this outfit is pretty self explanitory:
Dress - is one of the easiest things to wear.
Black tights and closed shoes - because it's still chilly out.
Burgundy bag - although it was the "it" color for fw13 (if your'e not up to date please note that the current sizzling colors are either: bright blue, lemon yellow or irredescent green), but I love this baby and I'm gonna keep wearing it lots.

And of course the leopard print, which I already talked about before and said that I consider it "the black of prints". It seems like I was right on, since about a month ago I bumped into a video of Jenna Lyons (AKA president of J.Crew and the best dressed lesbian on earth) in which she talked about leopard print as a neutral. Amen sister! Just don't forget who said it first.. ;)

מי שחושב שהחלטתי לנוח ממנומר אחרי הפוסט הזה טעה בגדול.
ואני חושבת שהאאוטפיט הזה פחות או יותר מסביר את עצמו:
שמלה - זה הפריט הקל ביותר ללבישה עלי אדמות.
גרביונים שחורים ונעליים סגורות - כי עדיין קריר בחוץ.
תיק בצבע בורדו - אמנם זה היה "ה"צבע הטרנדי של החורף האחרון (למי שלא מעודכנת עברנו, בגדול, לכחול טורקיזי זוהר, או ירוק זרחני או צהוב לימון. לבחירתך) אבל הבייבי הזה הולך ללוות אותי עוד הרבה.

וכמובן הדפס מנומר, שכבר ציינתי בעבר שמבחינתי הוא השחור של ההדפסים, ואני רואה שקלעתי לדברי גדולים, כי נתקלתי לפני חודש בסרטון של ג'נה ליונס (aka הנשיאה והמנהלת הקריאטיבית של חברת האופנה האמריקאית ג'יי קרו, וגם הלסבית שמתלבשת הכי טוב בעולם) שבו היא דווקא דיברה על נעליים אבל הגדירה את ההדפס המנומר כנייטרלי מבחינתה. אמן סיסטר! רק אל תשכחו מי אמרה את זה קודם.. ;)

winter wrap up

Finally woke up to a semi-winter day here in sunny Israel so I can post these images without looking like an idiot who wears coats in the middle of summer.
And I will take this opportunity to do a little farewell post from winter, since it is pretty much long gone here.

To sum things up I would say that, like any other Israeli winter, I thought this one was too little and too late. I tried to figure out why I need so many coats in my closet when I reside in one of the more you-don't-really-need-a-coat climate areas of the globe.

I also figured that the best coat for our area might be a biker jacket. Yes, just a jacket.
As in previous winters i looked enviously at amazing coats on street style blog images (such as this coat or that one) and gazed at the lovely multi-layered outfits that can only work in northern Europe.
But other than an excuse to complain, fashion wise, I'm actually pretty happy with all the sun around here.

סוף סוף התעוררתי ליום סמי-חורפי בו אני יכולה לפרסם את התמונות האלה מבלי לצאת לגמרי מפגרת ולא מחוברת... אז אני שמחה שנפלה לידי ההדמנות ואני אנצל אותה גם בתור פוסט מסכם לחורף שעבר.

אז מה היה לנו החורף?
כמו בכל חורף בשנים האחרונות הרגשתי שהוא הגיע מאוחר מדי ושלא היה מספיק ממנו. כמו כן, תהיתי ביני לבין עצמי למה אני צריכה כל כך הרבה מעילים (וברור לכם שאספנית המעילים הכפייתית מצאה את עצמה ביום הכי גשום עם ג'קט פשתן וללא מטרייה) והגעתי למסקנה שהמעיל האולטימטיבי במדינה כמו שלנו הוא לא אחר מג'קט אופנוענים. באמת שלא צריך יותר מזה.

כמו בכל חורף, התמוגגתי ממעילים מרשימים שראיתי בבלוגים של אופנת רחוב (כמו בלינק הזה, או כאן) ובתלבושות מורכבות ועתירות שכבות שיכולות לעבוד רק באקלימים צפוניים והתבאסתי קצת שאצלנו לא.
מצד שני לא בטוח שהייתי מדברת כך אם הייתי צריכה להתגורר במקום שבו לא ניתן לראות אור שמש במשך מספר חודשים ברציפות. תנחומיי ל"צפוניים"...

more mustard

Mustard.
Doesn't sound so good on paper (better on a hot dog), and it has never been really clear to me to which skin color it is most suitable for, but hey - it works pretty damn good.
Especially in cold winter days (we had some of those lately) with a big turtleneck on top.
As you all know I'm not very shy when it comes to color (red hot, fuscia, both of them in the same outfit - bring it on!) and for a while now I've been having a little affair with this shade. See: here, here and here.
This winter I decided to bring it up a notch with this sweater which is one of my great sale finds, and which looks disturbingly similar (minus the color and turtleneck) to another sweater I own, one by Isabel Marant, which cost much more, even after discount...
Which leads me to the conclusion: wear more mustard, save a buck and feel good!

על הנייר לא נשמע כמו רעיון טוב במיוחד (יותר עדיף על נקניקייה), ולא ברור למי או לאיזה גוון עור הוא בדיוק מתאים (סורי, אני לגמרי לא מעדות טריני וסוזאנה), אבל בפועל זה עובד לא רע לטעמי.
בייחוד בימי חורף סופר קרירים כשמתלווה אליו גולף ענק ומרקם צמרירי.
כידוע לכם, אני לא אחת שמפחדת מצבעים (צהוב זוהר, צכלצ או ורוד פוקסיה זועק - ברינג איט און!), וכבר זמן רב אני מנהלת רומן לא מחייב עם הצבע הזה בשילובי צבעים שונים - רפרנסים כאן, כאן וכאן.
החורף החלטתי להעלות את יחסינו מדרגה, בעזרת הסוודר הזה שהוא אחת ממציאות הסיילים המוצלחות. מגניב ומחמם ומזכיר לא מעט (מינוס הגוון והגולף) סוודר אחר של אחת איזבל מארה שעלה פי כמה וכמה ממנו (גם בסייל).
והמסקנה? תלבשו חרדל, תחסכו כסף ותרגישו טוב - כבר יום שלישי אז מפה השבוע יכול רק להשתפר.

Forget about rainboots (there is nonstop rain here) or umbrellas, the thing that I'm most interested in - rain or shine - is bags. So you can probably guess how happy I was to receive this little leopard baby yesterday, after it made all the way from New York to me.
For quite sometime I felt the need to add some reinforcement to my collection of small bags. My "weekend bags" I like to call them, the ones I wear without noticing that they are there (in terms of weight and space they take).
This cutie is a great addition and I already visualize it as part of many outfits.
Can't wait for Thursday evening!

שכחו ממגפי גומי או ממטריות, הדבר שאני הכי מעוניינת בו - בגשם, בשרב, בחמסין או בסופה - הוא תיקים.
בכל רגע נתון יש לי איזשהוא תיק (או חמישה) על הכוונת, לכן אתם יכולים לנחש מה רבה היתה שמחתי כשקיבלתי את הבייבי הזה במתנה אתמול.
כבר מזמן חשתי צורך לתגבר את אגף התיקים הקטנים שלי, אלה שאפשר לשים אותם על הגוף בהצלב ולא להרגיש שהם שם, "תיקי הסופ"ש", אם תרצו. והמנומר החמוד הזה הוא תוספת מבורכת.
מחכה כבר ליום חמישי בקוצר רוח!

leopard ruffles and a tee

I really love leopard print. Called it more than once :"the black of prints" because it is one of the most classic prints and can be combined with a lot of stuff.
I find that a many people are afraid of a good animal print, since they think it will make them look unsophisticated. But I think the right leopard print can have quite the opposite effect.
This time I chose to wear leopard in a casual and comfy weekend look: added a grey tee shirt (one can never go wrong with this item) and cute classic ballerinas with a small heel, which we'll talk about in an upcoming post.

אחד ההדפסים האהובים עלי ביותר, אם לא האהוב מכולם, הוא המנומר. כיניתי אותו כבר לא פעם "השחור של ההדפסים" בגלל יכולתו המופלאה להשתלב עם כל כך הרבה דברים אחרים.
אני מוצאת שהרבה אנשים חוששים ממנומר, על לא עוול בכפו. עיקר הפחד הוא שהמנומר ישווה מראה זול, אבל לדעתי אם מוצאים את הפריט המנומר הנכון הוא אפילו יכול להעניק מראה די מתוחכם.
הפעם בחרתי בשילוב פשוט וקז'ואלי של יום שבת אחה"צ: צירפתי לחצאית חולצת טי אפורה שאי אפשר לטעות איתה, ונעלי בלרינה קלאסיות עם עקב קטן, עליהן עוד ידובר בפוסט אחר.

wear to work

get the look: equipment color-block blouse / j crew pencil skirt / dvf leopard pumps / YSL muse two

So, since the main thing I do these days is work (and no play) I decided to feature my idea of a nice outfit for work. I like to go to work looking clean and polished, even if I'm not (just kidding!) and I think a collared blouse and pencil skirt give just the right look.
I don't own many pencil skirts, but even one in a good basic color can be enough. I can also see myself using this skirt a lot during the next season since it goes along well with other colors, plus burgundy is THE color to wear the upcoming fall and winter.
Added a little "spice" with these leopard d'orsay pumps I found on eBay a few months ago. I was on the hunt for pony-hair leopard pumps with a reasonable heel, and reasonably priced and after a long search stumbles upon these babies. Love them!

מאחר ומה שאני בעיקר עושה בימים אלה הוא לעבוד, ולאור כמה מבקשות הקוראים, החלטתי להציג אאוטפיט נחמד לעבודה. תמיד כיף ללכת לעבודה במראה מדוגם ונקי - ואין פריטי אופנה שיכולים לשוות את המראה הזה יותר מהקומבינציה של חולצה מכופתרת וחצאית עיפרון.
אין ברשותי הרבה חצאיות עפרון, אבל אני חושבת שחצאית אחת (או שתיים) טובה ובגוון בסיסי יכולה לעשות את העבודה. אני רואה את עצמי משתמשת הרבה בחצאית הזו גם בחורף הקרוב - לא מזיק שבורדו הולך להיות הגוןן החם של העונה הקרה.
למראה המסודר הוספתי תבלין מנומר בדמות נעלי עקב בעלות חרטום מחודד - הנעליים הנ"ל נמצאו באיביי לאחר חיפושים ארוכים ומייגעים. זהו דגם של זארה (ישן) שבכלל לא ידעתי על קיומו ואני ממש שמחה שהתגלה לי. ועוד עם עקב סביר, שמבחינת זארה זה די נדיר.
